Ashford v. State

In Ashford v. State, 583 So. 2d 1279 (Miss. 1991), a confidential informant was used to purchase drugs, and gave a physical description of the seller that was not the same as the physical appearance of the defendant. This was the only direct evidence the State had to identify the defendant, and it was contradictory, so there was reasonable doubt causing a reversal. In Ashford the confidential informant had misidentified the defendant's height and weight.
