Carlson v. Carlson

In Carlson v. Carlson, 983 S.W.2d 304 (Tex. App.--Houston 1st Dist. 1998, no writ), the appellant sought reimbursement from her ex-husband for one-half of the college expenses incurred by the couple's two children. At issue on appeal was the reimbursement of expenses incurred by one child who attended school from July 1988 through May 1993. Id. at 307. The appellant filed suit in July 1994, and the trial court found that appellant's right to seek reimbursement for one-half of that child's educational expenses incurred between July 1988 and June 30, 1990, was barred by the limitations for contracts. Id. The trial court then awarded the appellant one-half of the educational expenses incurred after July 1, 1990. Id. On appeal, the appellant acknowledged she was seeking to enforce contractual rights. Id.
