Deshong v. State

In Deshong v. State, 625 S.W.2d 327, 329-30 (Tex. Crim. App. 1981), the police officer's testimony that he found a bag containing what he believed to be marihuana was sufficient to prove that the substance was in fact marihuana. In that case, the officer actually saw the contraband in person, and the defendant did not challenge the officer's ability to recognize marihuana. Id. at 330.
