Standard Theatres, Inc. v. DOT

In Standard Theatres, Inc. v. DOT, 118 Wis. 2d 730, 747, 349 N.W.2d 661 (1984), the Court recognized that the trial court is in an advantageous position to decide the reasonableness of requested attorney fees. It is the trial court that observes the quality of legal services rendered, it is aware of the costs incurred in operating a law practice, and it knows or can readily find out the going rate for legal services in the community.
